How to make a set of bow and streamers

Measure and cut two lengths of ribbon one metre long using one or two colours or more

Form into three figures of eight

Fold in half, hold securely and mitre (cut) corners leaving approx 1cm in the centre

Secure with length of narrow ribbon approx 20cm long, then feed ribbon through the loops remaining

Once you have mitred (cut) corners tie securely in a knot

Now all that is left is to pull out the loops, trimming the raw ends of ribbon that are not looped into V shapes.

This is the bow which can be used with streamers as described below or on its own to decorate balloons, gifts etc or to be used for function decorating for example decorating a top table along with organza net or simply linking the bows with loops of ribbon. Pew bows and car bows can be made in the same way - Adjusting the size accordingly - The possibilities are endless!

To make the streamers

Cut five lengths of ribbon two metres long

Fold in half and repeat process as with the bow and mitre (cut) corners of fold once again

Secure with length of narrow ribbon as with bow

Hold fold of ribbons and split into two almost to the fold allow 4cms to remain unspoilt

To curl each ribbon, pull against a sharp knife or scissors taking extreme care while using sharp tools

One continuous stretch of the ribbon produces one ringlet of curls then repeat process until all ribbons have been curled

Finally attach the bow and streamers and the procedure is complete.
